Pine Chemicals & Turpentine Derivatives
Alpha Pinene Laevo
Laevorotatory isomer
Description
Alpha Pinene Laevo is the laevorotatory form of alpha pinene, separated where the optical activity of the material matters to the reaction it feeds. Chemically it is the mirror image of the dextro form, and the two behave differently in stereoselective synthesis.
It is taken principally by aroma chemical makers and fine chemical producers whose downstream route depends on starting from a defined isomer rather than a mixture.
Applications
- Stereoselective synthesis of aroma chemicals
- Production of laevo camphor and related derivatives
- Fine chemical and pharmaceutical intermediates
- Terpene resin production where isomer control is required
Features
- Defined optical rotation, supplied against specification
- High assay
- Low residue on evaporation
